Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking motivated and reliable Underground Utilities Pipe Crew members to join our team. The crew will be responsible for assisting in the installation, repair, and maintenance of underground utility systems, including water, sewer, and storm drain pipelines. Crew members will work under the supervision of the Pipe Foreman to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in laying, joining, and aligning various types of pipe (PVC, ductile iron, concrete, HDPE, etc.).
Excavate and backfill trenches using hand tools and/or heavy equipment under supervision.
Prepare pipe bedding and ensure proper alignment and grade.
Operate or assist with construction equipment (excavators, loaders, compactors, trenchers).
Handle materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently.
Install manholes, catch basins, valves, and related utility structures.
Maintain a clean and safe job site, adhering to all OSHA and company safety standards.
Support crew leaders and operators with daily tasks to maintain productivity.
Perform routine maintenance on tools and small equipment.
Follow directions from the Pipe Foreman and report any hazards or issues immediately.
Knowledge of construction practices, tools, and safety standards.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely.
Understanding of trench safety and excavation practices.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Dependability and ability to follow instructions.
